Famous for the “Owl and the Pussycat” and other nonsense verse in the 19th century, Lear was also an ornithologist and watercolour artist. These unusual and colourful bird &, parrot sketches come directly from his sketchbook. Writing and colour notations add an unusual element. Each is classically framed in a fine, gold gild frame.
